Sorry for derailing you're thread Lit I've already started on a fresh install so that when you're LU mod comes out I'm ready to give it a whirl. Just give us the word when you're ready to go public. I'll also see what I can do on getting the word out on your project to as many eyeballs and gaming outlets as I can. I also second Curlsworth's idea of checking with other skilled modders that you know on this forum, or possibly elsewhere that could help out with more coding, modeling, textures, etc. You guys will need to come up with a quantitative goal to reach, after taking costs and everything into consideration. All you need at this point is a capable team that you are preferably acquainted with and who shares our enthusiasm, and then you guys can make the glam and glitter needed to generate enough media hype to advertise the kickstarter. Like Curlsworth said, we'll gladly support your project. Working on it painfully slow? Still the best space sim news I've heard all day! Jack is Back. Too bad they can't just open their own studio. If all the pro modders in this community were to make their own space game and were given the budget and time (7 years full time paid labor) that EGOSOFT had I would bet money that it would blow X-R out of the water. I mean come on, there's a HUGE problem if a game company needs to rely on it's fanbase to make the game good, and an even bigger problem if they need to rely on their fanbase to make the game functional at all. I personally think EGOSOFT needs to support themselves by making and selling good software, and not rely on the hardwork of their fanbase to do their jobs for them, and as a matter of fact, better than the actual devs. They should have known better from the start to not make X-R, but what's done is done. Well to be honest, it's not like our (read some of us) trust in EGOSOFT has been damaged for no reason. Rebirth trashed their reputation, and no one of use wants to see Egosoft go away - bringing out another official X3 expansion could bring some trust back and fill up their bank account a little bit. This may sound far-fetched, but have you thought about contacting Egosoft? I can totally see that your mod may serve as the base for another X3 title. Which satellite mod for easier finding of derilects etc, read that some people find it as an essential addition for scaveging but can't find the post again for the name.Boringnick wrote:Reading the wiki pages, it looks like the biggest update to X3 ever, bigger than Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude together. According to Litcube uni it should be installed without bonus packs so I guess the DLC bonus pack in the steam version has to be unistalled?ģ. Which steam directory extactly (does it work with steam version)?Ģ. Will move on to something else or X4 if it's finished by then.ġ. I want the best complete expeirence since I will probably never return to it after a long playthrough. I'm familiar with x3 mechanics and I've played ap before so no need for recommendations to try vanilla first. And also some helps with installing in steam directory since that is not really explained on Litcube universe page. Would want as few other mods as possible so I can avoid incompatibility and was wondering if something else is really essential. After some reading Litcube seems intresting. So this time I wanna give AP a fair new try but experience tells me that mods are needed for that epic experience. Enjoyed x3 farm more then I do x4 in it's current state but seems promising for the future. Next hopes and hype was X4 but currently to broken, waiting for things to get patched up and first expansion. Thought I would wait for rebirth to get fixed and dlced and return but I never did since the "one ship" design was unbearable for me. I gave both x3tc and ap vanilla a try with all patches and official bonus packs but eventually got bored without mods. Got x3tc and ap on steam instead after the release of XR since I was so excited to go spacesim again. Then hyped over release of XR but stoped playing it after a couple of hours. Been away from the x-series a long long while, heavily modded x3tc was my last epic experience and some ap after it realeased but then I had a long break. This small patch will restore Vanillas combat balance, with faster-firing and slower lasers to bring SWLU back to that classic X3 feeling.
